gettin' it!

Here's a few pics...starting with the "dependable Cobb" from the Hard Rock in Stockholm

Hard Rock Cafe has a good Cobb.... Unfortunately for us the Hard Rock Stockholm was in the middle of a fierce legal battle with the tennant/owners of their building. The night we were scheduled to play the Hard Rock was threatened with Eviction if any music was performed live. Too bad 'cause we were ready and there was a good crowd of folks, some of whom had traveled a long way to get there. Promoter refunded everyones money, bought free drinks and 65 of our cd's to give to the patrons. Band sure hopes to come back and play a proper show.

Madrid was our 'home base'. I met the guys from "Love To Art" a couple years ago when I was in Spain playing w Steve Earle. They did a fantastic job helping us put together this tour.

back in NYC

wow,
as Keith and I were watching our phones blink in the cab on the way back from JFK last night we remarked that yesterday's travel back from Madrid seemed almost easy. I'm tired as hell and turned around. My computer took a dive in Stockholm so I'm behind in a lot more things than just this blog. Of course the computer has everything in it so I'm lacking on the specifics but I will say this had to be one of the best club tours I've ever been on. Despite getting sick, getting better and getting really sick again I sure had a great time playing and meeting a lot of people. Thanks to DahVeed and my bandmates in the Yayhoos who all pitched in heavy at the right times. More details/stories to follow but for right now here's a Youtube clip from some guy who was standing in front of my amp....

Thank You Helsinki!

What a cool place. Tavistia has to be one of the best clubs in Europe.
Great sound, great stage, great staff, great crowd. Helsinki is a wild place.
It seems to have held onto its own identity, crazy language and culture (which has to be tough
wearing two pair of mittens most of the year!)

Right now we are in the airport getting ready to head for Stockholm and the gig
at the Hard Rock Cafe (which has a very dependable Cobb Salad). Dan is working
on his numbers puzzle, Keith is at the Bar, Terry is shopping and I just finished
this lovely little open face shrimp sandwich

3 more gigs to go.....

colder than I can explain

I grew up in Batavia, Illinois which is very cold and went to school
in Laramie, Wyoming which is very, very cold. I've been to Finland
a lot of times over the years with bands but last night it was so cold
I had to scream to keep warm and today is gonna be colder!

the Yayhoos are playing the Tavastia Club tonight. Tavastia is kind of the Whiskey A Go Go of Helsinki.
I first played there 20 years ago with the Del Lords. I'm gonna look for
some of Frank Funaro's graffiti in the dressing room.

Headed North

The Yayhoos have the coolest crowds. Terry has been taking pics of the crowds every night and they
have been a rocking bunch for sure.

We had a fantastic dinner at the Hotel Lamm in Winterbach.

They thought we were famous and decanted our wine

what can I say? (UK)

Hard to describe the last few days. We barely made it to Newcastle the other night.
We get to the Cluny very late after 2 flights from Spain and are greeted by a packed house of
people ready to rock w the Yayhoos on a Sunday night. I had been very sick but the guys and the
crowd helped me get through the gig.

It is hard to expain the US musician perspective on gigging in the UK. It has to be the hardest place
to play. Very hard to get around. Hard to eat... odd times...can't get stuff at certain times/places.
Traffic and the old roads are insanely tricky. If you live in the UK you are used to it. We are not.

Luckily we had the "Tom Tom" GPS rig that helped us get where we were going.

Also, we had the good fortune to play 3 great little joints this time too. A lot of times we get the
"You guys should have been at "So and So"

Great crowds. We thank you all for coming out and rocking with us on the most un-rock and roll nights
(Sun/Mon/Tues)

We flew to Amsterdam today from Bristol. The guys went into town. I've spent enough time
there and need to catch up some so I stayed here and found a little french place for a steak.

Really looking forward to powering into the next bunch of gigs.

Thanks again to the people who came out in England and to the bookers and the folks who worked the shows.

Spain Welcomes the Yayhoos!

It has all been going really great for the Yayhoos over here in Spain. After a really easy flight on Iberia we were greeted by the folks from Love To Art (Promoter/Distributors). Last night we had a great time in this little village called Lierganes. Tonight we
are in Blibao, a couple blocks from the Guggenheim.

We stayed in La Cavada last night and I spotted this sculpture of a guy named Vincente Perez.
